ABOUT THE CONFERENCE

Built for clinicians who treat the whole patient.

Stroke, epilepsy, and migraine rarely arrive in isolation — and the professionals who manage them, from attending neurologists to bedside nursing staff, need a shared forum to compare protocols, share outcomes, and refine care pathways together.

Hosted at the new conference center on the AUA campus, this hybrid program brings that forum to Antigua, built around resource-optimized strategies for small island health systems: case discussion, current guidelines, and time for the hallway conversations that conferences are really for. SLBMC is a World Stroke Organization-recognized Essential Stroke Center.

Consultant Neurologist at Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre in Antigua, board certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology. His clinical interests include epilepsy, autoimmune encephalitis, ICU EEG monitoring, stroke, and women's neurological health.

Saturday afternoon

Associate Professor of Vascular Neurology at the University of Miami, where she serves as Chief of Neurology and Medical Director of the stroke program across two Jackson Health System hospitals. Her work focuses on reducing geographic disparities in stroke care, including access to treatment across the Caribbean.

Saturday morning

Professor of Neurology and Pediatrics at Dell Medical School, The University of Texas at Austin, where he directs the Comprehensive Pediatric Epilepsy Program at Dell Children's. A board-certified pediatric epileptologist, his work focuses on drug-resistant epilepsy and strengthening ties between epilepsy centers in Texas and the Caribbean.

Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology and epilepsy nurse practitioner at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and USA lead contact for the ILAE's North America nursing section. Her work focuses on patient and caregiver education, including SUDEP disclosure and women's issues in epilepsy.
